Background
Mahasemam is a Microfinance organization registered under the Indian Trust Act 1882. The organization was registered at Nilakottai, Dindigul on July 12,1999. The prime aim for establishing Mahasemam is to help eradicate poverty and improve the social status and self esteem of poor women. The spirit of the organization is aptly captured and signified by the Tamil word “SEMAM” which means wellbeing.
The Mahasemam logo
The Mahasemam logo carries the entire essence of the activities of the organization in a descriptive pictorial format. The cluster of honey bees rightly represents the members who collectively pool in their savings just as honey bees collect their honey.
The three bees outside the honey comb represent the member, the organization and the funding agencies.
The tender shoot depicted in the logo represents the growth of the women group thereby, growth of the organization.
The green leaves around the honey bees signifies the federation of women group providing support and protection to each other.
